Wings Over Willamette is EAA Chapter 292‘s annual fly-in and STOL event at 7S5 Independence State Airport. The event features a variety of exciting activities, including STOL WARS (a Short Takeoff and Landing competition), educational displays, aircraft exhibits, and more. Attendees can expect to see a range of aircraft, from vintage planes to modern marvels, and enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the weekend. There are opportunities to meet pilots, learn more about aviation, and experience the vibrant community at Independence.
General admission to our event includes a lanyard and access pass which are good entry for both days.
- Ticket Price – $10 for adults. Free for kids 18 and under.
- Saturday Dinner – Limited seating, pre-purchase recommended
- Merchandise – Pre-purchased items can be picked up at registration

Pancake Breakfast (Saturday & Sunday)

Burger Lunch (Saturday & Sunday)
- Time – 11:30 – 1:30 PM
- Menu – 1/3 lb Burger, soda, and chips
- Price – $15 per plate
- Prepared and served by – BSA (proceeds support their activities)
Pilots Dinner (Saturday)
- Time – 5:00 PM
- Menu – Catered buffet with steak and chicken as well as vegetarian options. Lots of sides including appetizers, salads, fruits, bread and more. Desserts included.
- Price – $30 pre-register, $40 at the event
- Note – Limited seating, early ticket purchase recommended
The Starduster Cafe is open every day from 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM and their parking lot is reserved for patrons only. There are also many food options available in town.
Location – Follow signs along Hoffman Rd. / Polk St. to the parking lot at the southeast corner of the airport.
Shuttle – Runs between the parking lot and the event entrance all day
Note: the Starduster Cafe parking lot is reserved for customers only.
Disability parking and access is available near the event entrance along Airport Rd. Parking Permit required. Please contact us ahead of time for any special needs.
7S5 is home to Independence Airpark and complementary on-site lodging is available for those traveling to our event. It’s a great way to find out more about the airpark and connect with the local community.

Local Hotels – The Independence Hotel is located downtown and is a short 5-min ride (1.7 mi) between the airport.
Fly-in into 7S5 for the weekend! Our non-towered 3000 ft asphalt runway accommodates most light GA aircraft.
- Runway 16-34 Calm-wind runway is 34
- Pattern is LEFT traffic for 16 & 34 except for gliders and ultra-lights.
- No grass landings allowed.
During the event ground crew will help you position your aircraft on the ramp. We ask that you keep the west end clear for our STOL competition.
Airport is NOTAM closed Sunday 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM for our STOL competition and will reopen after the competition flights.
